Recreation

On- and off-campus recreational activities are designed and offered to meet the residents' different interests. The goals of this program are (1) to provide activities that are fun and entertaining, and (2) to help residents develop appropriate social skills.

A sample of recreational activities includes: attending Broadway musicals and professional sporting events, going to the movies, and shopping with friends.

Special Events

Annual events such as the New Year's Eve Party, Valentine's Day Party, Fourth of July Celebration, Homecoming, Mid-South Fair Day, the Un-Birthday Bash, and pool parties are just some of the ways we have fun at The Baddour Center! A Community Life Calendar is published and posted monthly, listing all on- and off-campus activities. (See link for family members.)

There are also many opportunities for independent activity on campus - tennis courts, basketball goals, bicycle riding, or just walking the grounds. An outdoor swimming pool is open each summer during scheduled hours for recreational use.

Resident Government Association

The Resident Government Association (RGA) is a self-advocacy group sponsored by Community Life. Officers and representatives are elected by their peers, and elections are held annually.

The RGA was formed and designed with a two-fold purpose: (1) to be a forum for self-advocacy for Baddour Center residents, and (2) to promote community awareness and responsibility through support of charitable causes which the RGA selects.
