Resident Report: Fresh Faces
Ashley Durkee, M.A. and Amanda Surdock, M.A.

Did you know that six of the current Baddour Center residents have lived here less than six months? We thought it would be a good idea to get to know a few of these newcomers, so we're glad to introduce you to Jordan, Amanda, and Michael.
Jordan moved into the Denny House on January 19th, 2009. She is originally from Olive Branch, Mississippi. Jordan really likes to spend time with her family when she can. She has a big family, so there is always something going on! Her family includes her mom and step-father, two sisters, one brother, and two step-sisters. Jordan also has a dog, named Vinnie.
Jordan is very athletic and loves all sports. Her favorites are basketball, soccer, and baseball. So far, she is really enjoying life at The Baddour Center, because there is so much fun stuff to do! Her favorite activities include bowling, swimming, going to movies, and playing videogames in the game room. Jordan is also involved in a social group for some of the girls who are new to Baddour. She has enjoyed getting to know others who are going through the same transition. Above all, Jordan loves to have fun! Says another resident, "Jordan laughs a lot!"
Amanda moved into the Starkville home this past October. She is originally from Munford, Tennessee, right outside of Memphis. Amanda is the eldest of three kids. She has a sister, who is in high school, and a brother, who is in elementary school. They have two dogs, Shih Tzus named Sassy and Kiki Lee.
Here at The Baddour Center, Amanda works in Welcome Kit Assembly for FedEx, which she really enjoys. Says Amanda, "I really like work because I like money!" Other things that she likes about life at Baddour include trips off campus to places such as Target or the movie theater. Amanda is also a member of the social group for girls who are new to Baddour. In her spare time, she enjoys playing on her computer and listening to music. Her favorite bands are Nickelback and Hinder. Needless to say, Amanda has been a great addition to The Baddour Center family.
We would also like to introduce you to one of our newest residents. Michael just moved to Baddour from Olive Branch, where he lived with his parents. He is currently residing at the Greenwood House, and is roommates with his best friend, Raymond C. Michael said that he and Raymond like to ride their bikes together. Other things that Michael likes to do include going to the Tobie movies on Monday nights and hanging out at the rec center. He also enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Jordan. Michael also told us that he enjoys working with Miss Polly in AVS.
As one of the youngest Baddour Center residents, 17-year-old Michael is recently completed his education at Center Hill High School. He is an only child. Since his arrival at TBC, he has been nothing but smiles. Staff members all around comment about his joy and enthusiasm! Welcome aboard Jordan, Amanda, and Michael!
