Shannon Hill, Ph.D.
In the last edition of the newsletter, I talked about March snow. Yesterday it was 102 degrees, according to my car. So, I guess you could say things are heating up. In Education & Research, we are excited that a number of our projects are culminating. In the Research Corner article, you'll learn about our experiences with Grief Groups, which we are beginning to write about and conduct presentations on at state and national conferences.
Summer is usually a time of student transition, but like many of their predecesors, our current interns Ashley Durkee and Corinn Johnson have decided to stay on for another year. We will also be getting a new Social Work intern from The University of Memphis in the fall, so we are excited about this new partnership.
Speaking of the interns, in October Ashley and I will be sharing the results of one of our staff training projects through a teleconference series hosted by the National Association on Dual Diagnosis. Ashley will also present the findings at a national conference on behavioral issues.
The rest of the newsletter is dedicated to updating you on the everyday happenings at The Baddour Center. We hope you enjoy this slice of life! Be sure to read about Tom and Pat, our resident and staff spotlight people this quarter. They're quite special!
