With an exclusive sponsorship from Smith & Nephew, The Baddour Center's drama team, the Wonder Players, presented "The Bachelor King," which is a story of a king who finds that learning is the journey. Between acting for five packed audiences between May 29 and June 1, cast members pause for a photo. Katie M. (front row, left to right) portrayed Ms. Henry, and Amy W. was a bachelorette. Susan H. (back row, left to right) was also a bachelorette. Kyle O., Pat M., Michael F., and Louana W. portrayed
members of the TV Stage Crew. Pat M. and Louana also portrayed
bachelorettes.
Prince Daft, portrayed by Aaron T. (left), hands Yokel, a hillbilly turned king portrayed by Tom S., a poisonous beverage in an unsuccessful attempt to become king.
Hazel, portrayed by Beverly B., provided comic relief for the audience and trustworthyadvice to King Yokel when his advisors had selfish agendas.
Left to right: Sally (Rachel A.), Priscilla (Susan R.), Agatha (Kathleen H.), Jane (Jamie B.), and Kanisha (Shannon G.) each made an impact on Yokel's journey of learning about who he is, the ways of the world, and how to be a great king.
Yokel ponders the counseling provided by King Evian (left), portrayed by Mark P., who returns as a spirit after unexpectedly passing the throne to him.
