Fire up the grill

On April 26th, a group of high school students from Southern Baptist Educational Center (SBEC) in Southaven, Miss., led by senior Ashley Wieronski, fired up the grill in The Grove on The Baddour Center campus.

A long-time tradition in the South is family gatherings where food is the focus, such as a picnic or a pot luck gathering. Since The Center is nestled in the heart of the South, the tradition runs deep here, especially in our stomachs!

A group of residents, primarily the 2008 Wonder Players cast, gathered for a picnic to share an afternoon with the visitors.

Wherever there are residents, there is sure to be fun! The crisp April afternoon was filled with socializing with the energetic visitors, playing all sorts of outdoor games and, of course, eating! There is nothing like sinking your teeth into a hotdog, fresh off the grill, while hanging out with friends. Needless to say, the supper picnic was a blast!

To add more fun to the mix, The Wonder Players cast provided a special treat to the visitors from SBEC: a sneak preview of the annual summer play, "The Bachelor King," a hysterical comedy. Thank you, SBEC friends, for the food and fun we shared together! We hope you had as much fun as we did, and we hope that you will come back to campus to visit again very soon!
